Poverty Reduction and Forests: Tenure, Market and Policy Reforms
The international conference on "Poverty Reduction and Forests: Tenure, Market and Policy Reforms" will be held in Bangkok, Thailand, from September 3 - 7, 2007.
The conference will address:
The role of forests in poverty reduction
Lessons learned from policies and projects in pro-poor forestry
Emerging opportunities and threats
Collective action to support pro-poor forestry
The conference goal is to identify priorities for future action and explore strategies for promoting policy, tenure and market reforms in Asia.
The conference is organized by the Regional Community Forestry Training Center for Asia and the Pacific (RECOFTC) in collaboration with the Rights and Resources Initiative (RRI). More than 10 partner organizations are supporting the conference.
