With support from the Japan Fund for Global Environment, AFN is facilitating the Asia Regional Exchange on Forest Sector Contribution to Millennium Development Goals (AFMDG). The aim of this 12-month project starting April 2006 is to generate synthesized learnings and articulations on how community forest management is contributing to poverty reduction and human security.
Under AFMDG, AFN will conduct:
- The 11th AFN Regional Meeting that will focus on the Forest Sector Contribution to Millennium Development Goals
- A review of forests and poverty reduction as these relate to local governance and community forest management practices
- A field workshop on Participatory Land Use Planning for Human Security
